Who We Are

Women in CTRL is an independent research and leadership organisation examining power, representation, and decision-making across the music industry.

The organisation exists to address structural inequality at senior and board level by producing evidence, analysis, and practical frameworks that support more transparent and accountable leadership practice.

Women in CTRL operates across research, leadership development, and sector collaboration, with a focus on long-term, system-level change rather than short-term interventions.

Our Approach

Women in CTRL’s work is grounded in the understanding that lasting change in the music industry depends on how power is structured, exercised, and held to account.

Rather than focusing solely on access or participation, the organisation examines governance, leadership pathways, and decision-making environments where inequality is reproduced or challenged.

Its approach is:

• evidence-led, grounded in original research and sector analysis
• practical, translating research into frameworks that inform leadership practice
• collaborative, working within existing structures to support sustainable change
